In the winter semester 2004/05, a seminar about optimization and security in XML based data streams and data bases took place. The German name was Optimierung und Sicherheit in XML-basierten Datenströmen und Datenbanken. This seminar was part of the master's course in computer science at the University of Paderborn, department for Electronic Commerce and Databases, and was supervised by professor Stefan Böttcher.

My presentation was about the research results of A. Balmin, F.Özcan, K.S. Beyer, R.C. Cochrane and H. Piraesh (IBM Almaden Research Center, San Jose) in their paper A Framework for Using Materialized XPath Views in XML Query Processing. The paper was presented during the VLDB (Very Large Data Base) conference 2004 in Toronto, Canada. Here is a link to the original document.
